The new Verizon flagship phone the Droid Incredible was supposed to have a launch date that was a secret. Now, all customers know they can pre-order the Droid Incredible starting on Thursday, April 29. A teaser web site on VerizonWireless.com accidentally went live earlier today but was easily pulled. But now the cat has been let out of the bag.

Droid geeks are reporting sightings of the Droid Incredible for some time. The anticipation has been unbearable creating gossip about rumors of the features and release within the blogosphere. But now, because of a communication breakdown within the inner sanctum of Verizon web development, the agony will be changed by ecstasy as of April 29, when you can whip out your credit card and order the Droid Incredible.
Droid Incredible Google Nexus One is a matchup
It appears that the Droid Incredible has the exact same specs as the Nexus One by Google and that Verizon users have been waiting for a when for it. A 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor under the hood, 567 MB RAM/512MB ROM, and 8GM of internal storage will all be a part of the Droid Incredible. It also will have 480×480 pixels with a 3.7 inch AMOLED display. Along with the Nexus One, the Droid Incredible will run Android 2.1.
Android Platform improved with Droid Incredible
The biggest difference between the two devices will be the Droid Incredible runs HTC’s revised Sense UI, according to Eric Zeman at Informationweek.com. Zeman said the newer version of Sense makes using the Android platform a seamless and much more enjoyable experience. HTC’s custom overlay includes more powerful screen switching tools and better social networking support. The Sense UI was confirmed in the screen shot posted by Verizon Wireless on the teaser site before it was shut down by the company.
Droid Incredible and the point and shoot performance
Other features of the Droid Incredible were revealed on the Verizon site including a hefty 8 megapixel camera with autofocus and flash, meaning the droid might save you from finding a personal loan for a new digital camera. Other goodies for the Droid Incredible include a GPS, a 3.5 mm headset, 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.1, a light sensor, proximity sensor, and a digital compass.

It wasn’t too long before Verizon password-protected the teaser site for the Droid Incredible. On it was an image of the Droid Incredible with data integrated with the April 29th date. Unless you were one of the few lucky individuals who caught Verizon with their pants down earlier, you are probably shut out now. But you are able to expect Verizon to revive the site before too long, along with the requisite advertising blitz urging you to chuck your Droid, get a cash loan and order the Droid Incredible.
